Focus and Scope

GRF Davos’ innovative e-journal aims to support the establishment of a worldwide risk community, committed to sharing know-how and expertise by a constant process of dialogue – a crucial but still insufficiently implemented element of a truly integrative approach to risk reduction and disaster management.

Planet@Risk provides:

  • inter-sectorial and inter-disciplinary information on environmental, economic, geopolitical, societal and technological risks and disasters
  • theories, methods and tools for analysing, modelling and addressing these risks and disasters
  • measures for integrative risk and disaster management

The journal publishes singular papers that have successfully completed the review process. Manuscripts can be submitted for one of the following seven sections:

Peer Review Process

Planet@Risk offers quick publication and free accessibility to everyone. Quality control and assessment for publication are guaranteed by a rapid review process and an editorial board composed of international experts.

The managing editor will forward contributions that match the topics and one of the section formats of Planet@Risk to two members of the editorial board for a double blind review. Book reviews and contributions to the miscellaneous section will be evaluated by the managing editor and directly be assigned for publication if approved.

The editorial board consists of international experts in the various fields. These specialists evaluate the manuscript and make recommendations on acceptance, rejection or necessary improvements. The latter are communicated to the author/s who will (if necessary) revise the manuscript accordingly. In case of contrasting recommendations between the reviewers, the manuscript is send to the editor-in-chief for final assessment and decision.

Publication Frequency

The journal's review process ensures high quality of the contributions but also fast processing. Manuscript will be published within 4 months after submission.
